🚨 Symptoms

Pimples (whiteheads, blackheads), papules, pustules, cysts, nodules on face, chest, back; inflammation and redness; scarring possible

Hormonal changes (especially during puberty), excess oil production, clogged pores, bacteria (C. acnes), stress, certain medications

💊 Treatment

Topical benzoyl peroxide, retinoids, antibiotics; oral antibiotics, isotretinoin for severe cases; hormonal therapy for women; comedone extraction

Educate on gentle skin cleansing, avoid picking lesions, discuss treatment adherence, monitor for isotretinoin side effects, provide emotional support
