🚨 Symptoms

Dry, itchy, red, cracked skin; oozing and crusting; thickened skin from scratching; commonly on flexor surfaces

🔍 Causes

Genetic predisposition, immune system dysfunction, skin barrier defects, triggers: irritants, allergens, stress, weather changes

💊 Treatment

Moisturizers (emollients), topical corticosteroids, topical calcineurin inhibitors, antihistamines, wet wraps, phototherapy, systemic immunosuppressants

📝 Nursing Care

Educate on skin care routine, trigger avoidance, proper application of topical medications; monitor for secondary infection; provide emotional support
