Throbbing headache (often unilateral), nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light/sound/smell, aura (visual disturbances, tingling), fatigue

Genetic and environmental factors; triggers: stress, hormonal changes, certain foods, lack of sleep, weather changes, sensory stimuli

Acute: triptans, NSAIDs, antiemetics; preventive: beta-blockers, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, CGRP monoclonal antibodies; lifestyle modifications

Educate on trigger identification, medication use, headache diary; provide comfort measures (dark, quiet room); assess for medication overuse headache
